Mary P. Callahan (PhD, Cornell University; MSc, London School of Economics and Political Science; BA, Pennsylvania Stat University) is Associate Professor in the Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington. Mary's ongoing research interest include: political reform in post-junta, constitutional Myanmar; Rohingyas, Rakhines, “Taingyinthar," and historical analysis of the causes of “communal” violence in western Myanmar; and comparative analysis of civil-military relations in transitional politics in Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan and Burma/Myanmar.
